The Lost Art of Listening to Music

Listening to Sirius this morning.  What a great idea.  Commercial free radio.  Now that’s something I would pay for.

I just wish ALL the talking on the radio stations would stop.  I can’t stand the incessant chatter by the “DJ’s”.   Do we really need their commentary?   It’s just noise to me, like the TV’s at the airport that are blaring out CNN.  I can’t concentrate.

I once heard Neil Young say that he doesn’t listen to music on the radio anymore.   Yet he was familiar with virtually everything.    When asked, he said, “well it’s not like I have a choice, now do I.”

He’s right.  Choosing to listen is becoming a lost art.

At least the music at Starbucks is inaudible.
